sadiya's career began in the small town of Sebring, Florida as a band known as Dieversion. they released one demo as dieversion on mindfunct records (you didn't think i would remember) and played several shows around the area including Underground Music Festival, Coretech, and many other appearances. following a name change and new talent, dieversion became that wonderful group we know and love today. in their next recording they added a turntablist, a la dj lethal. once again things changed ditching the no balls sound of the limp dilznik and picking a harder edge which proved to be excellent move for them. adding the underage phenom drummer and another vocalist to the band gave sadiya added balls. with the new sounds and new additions they dropped "as it gets forgotten" (even though the title is sure to make an English teacher grimace). the CD rocked (and still does). a highlight for me is the opening featuring a clip from the john waters masterpiece "Cecil B. Demented" and blasts into all out sadiya style hardcore. the follow-up to "As it Get's forgotten" brought another new sound and addition to the lineup (ugly D) in the release of "A False Sense of Love and Hope". more balls, more guitars, more screaming (ROCK!). sadiya, broke up recently and is rumored to be getting back together for one final show(s) and possibly together for good. who knows?!?! but with the old linup (adam, pretty and ugly d's, josh, old man river [a.k.a. russell], minus aldo [boo!]) sadiya is destined to rock out once again.
i am considering releasing some of the songs from their first efforts in dieversion and sadiya. i am also working on finding my copy of the ode to the fred durst lineup of sadiya complete with turntable background scratching (it's quite phallic). for now pop on over to mp3.com and download "i hate goodbyes".
